Chromebooks for 7th Graders
As a reminder, all 7th grade SRMS students will be required to buy a district Chromebook at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. Families will be charged $220 in your student’s 2018-2019 fees. Your child will use this device in Jeffco schools over the next 3-5 years. Chromebooks will be distributed to all 7th grade families who have purchased a Chromebook through Jeffco Connect Student Fee Payments on August 23 from 4-6 pm.  Click here to visit our 1:1 Chromebook page.

Cell Phone Policy
We have changed our cell phone policy now that we’re moving to a 1:1 Chromebook environment next school year. What does that mean? Summit Ridge Middle School will require all students to turn their cell phones off and away during school hours.  Research shows that middle schoolers do better with phones away during school hours.  When students do not have the freedom of accessing their phones during school hours, they are more engaged socially and academically. Visit www.awayfortheday.org for more information on the research behind this cell phone policy and the benefits this has had on schools nationwide.  Begin conversations with your student on properly securing their cell phones in their locker or at home during the school day. It is important that your student does not jam their lockers or give out their combination.
